Vorwerk
German breed created by Oskar Vorwerk in the early 1900s, wearing the Lakenvelder's black-hackle pattern on a buff body. Bred as an efficient, even-tempered utility fowl. Large fowl remain rare in North America.
Adaptable and economical to feed for its output. Handles varied climates well; standard dry-coop practice covers it in wet winters.
