Swedish Flower Hen
Swedish landrace named for its flowered plumage, white-tipped feathers over varied base colors so no two birds match. Nearly extinct by the 1970s, recovered through conservation flocks. Largest of the Swedish landrace breeds.
Cold-hardy and self-sufficient on range, which suits wet northern climates. It is a landrace, so the birds vary. Let them vary. Breeding toward a standard works against what a landrace is.
