Silverudd Blue
Martin Silverudd bred this green-egg layer in Sweden in the 1960s, and the breed carried the name Isbar for decades before Swedish breeders renamed it to honor him. Blue, black, and splash plumage. Hens lay a moss-green egg at a rate most pure breeds can't touch. US stock traces to imports from around 2011.
A light, weather-tough bird that suits cool climates. Green eggs at this volume sell themselves at any farm stand. Roosters mature fast and stay mild. Lines are young in this country, so buy from breeders who cull hard for egg color.
