Shamo
Tall, nearly vertical Japanese game breed developed from Thai fighting fowl, standing with hard, sparse feathering over heavy muscle. O-Shamo and Chu-Shamo are weight classes. The Ko Shamo is a separate small ornamental cousin. Japan uses the breed for the long-simmered dish tori-nabe.
Sparse feathering means they need real shelter in cold rain. Never house mature birds together. Use tall pens, since they carry themselves upright.
