Saipan Jungle Fowl
A tall Asian game type brought to the US from Saipan after the Second World War. Males can stand near three feet with hard, close feathering and a small comb. Birds take two to three years to mature. The breed stays rare and lines vary widely.
Give them height, room, and patience. Slow maturity means feeding a long time before you know what you raised. Tropical blood shows in winter, so a dry coop out of the wind matters here. Roosters spar; house spares apart.
