Rosecomb
One of the oldest true bantams, an exhibition classic defined by its large rose comb with a straight spike and big round white earlobes. Black is the signature variety. People keep it for show.
Hardy for its size. Through wet winters give dry, draft-free quarters. Exhibition birds need their earlobes protected from frost and sun scald.
“The Black and White Rose-Combs are counterparts of the graceful and stylish Hamburgs; they are the embodiment of grace, style and sprightliness.”
Disqualifications: Combs other than rose; absence of spike; cocks weighing over 28 ounces, hens or cockerels over 24 ounces, pullets over 22 ounces.
