Rhode Island White
A distinct breed from the Rhode Island Red, developed separately with Wyandotte, Cochin, and Leghorn blood and admitted in 1922 with a rose comb. A strong brown-egg layer used in commercial sex-link crosses. Rare in pure form today.
Rose comb plus solid build make it a fine cold-wet-climate bird. Hardy and productive with ordinary care.
