Olive Egger
A production cross with no breed standard. Chicks hatched from these birds will vary from their parents.
A cross between a blue-egg breed (Ameraucana, Cream Legbar) and a dark-brown-egg breed (Marans, Welsummer). The blue shell overlaid with brown pigment yields olive to deep green eggs. Second-generation crosses can deepen the shade.
Care follows the parent breeds; most are hardy in cool, wet climates. Egg shade varies bird to bird, so hatch or buy from breeders who track their crosses.
