Naked Neck
Carries a single gene that eliminates neck feathering and cuts overall feather coverage by up to half, giving a turkey-like look. It excels in heat. The reduced feather coverage costs insulation in hard cold. A capable dual-purpose farm bird, easy to pluck.
Handles heat well. The bare neck and thin feathering leave it short on insulation, so give it a draft-free coop and cover in hard freezes. Bare skin can sunburn in summer. Ordinary dry-coop care handles the rest.
