Modern Game
Exhibition breed created after cockfighting was banned in Britain in 1849, bred for extreme height and tight feathering, with a whip tail. All legs and neck, carried on a station-y upright stance. People keep it for show.
Sparse, hard feathering gives little insulation, so they need snug housing in cold, wet weather. Exhibition birds are commonly dubbed. Handle them regularly and they get tame.
“The Game has a style or carriage peculiar to itself, which is generally described by the word 'Station,' and a high-stationed bird is most desirable.”
Disqualifications: Cocks not dubbed; artificial coloring, trimming or plucking of foul feathers. Games are not to be disqualified for side sprigs.
