Dong Tao
Vietnamese breed raised for the table, known for massively thick, scaled legs and once presented to royalty. The legs and the meat bring premium prices in Vietnam. Hens lay few eggs, and those thick legs make a sitting hen clumsy, so hatch rates run low.
A warm-climate bird that wants dry housing and gentle footing. Cold mud will do it no favors. Outside Vietnam they are extremely rare and expensive.
