Booted Bantam
True bantam carrying enormous foot and hock feathering, the 'boots,' on a clean face where a d'Uccle would have a beard. An old Dutch-German breed that sits behind many feather-legged bantams. People keep them for exhibition and as pets.
The boots shred and cake in mud, so in a wet climate you have to house them dry and covered. Keep the litter deep and dry to protect the foot feather.
“The White Booted are distinct from the White Cochin Bantams in the possession of an abundance of stiff feathers, pronounced vulture-hocks, and an upright and sprightly carriage.”
Disqualifications: Feathers other than white in any part of plumage; absence of vulture-hocks; shanks not feathered down the outer sides; shanks other than white; outer toes not feathered; birds over disqualifying weights.
