Appenzeller Spitzhauben
Switzerland's national chicken, named for the forward-pointing crest that looks like an Appenzell lace bonnet. A nimble mountain forager with a V-comb, most often seen in Silver Spangled. Give one the chance and it will roost high and range a long way from the coop.
Mountain-bred, so cold and rain roll off them, and that makes them a good free-range bird here. They fly. Unless you train them to the coop they will roost in trees.
