55 Flowery Hen
Another Silverudd creation, named for its 1955 debut and the mille-fleur flowered plumage of the hens. The breed is autosexing, so cockerels and pullets hatch in different down colors from the same purebred pen. Hens lay a big white egg for a smallish bird.
Docile enough for a family flock and thrifty on range. Chicks sort themselves by sex on day one, which saves the guesswork that comes with most straight runs. Scarce here; expect a waitlist from the few US breeders.
